A lot of people who might not have previously felt a need for mental health services are now finding themselves unsure of how to deal with the increased anxiety, uncertainty, and isolation this pandemic has brought.
Elina Malamud, LCSW, CCS is a compassionate and dedicated mental health professional is ready to assist people in need for counseling via secure HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. Elina Malamud has 20 years of experience of providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorders, and many psychotic disorders. She utilizes evidence-based treatment models, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) MI (Motivational Interviewing), and IMR (Illness Management and Recovery), as part of the individualized treatment plan developed for each individual client.
Elina Malamud earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from New York University, and a Master’s degree in social work from Columbia University. She is a licensed clinical social worker as well as a certified clinical supervisor in the state of New Jersey and New York.

However, there are some exceptions required by law to this rule. Exceptions include:
- Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse. The therapist is required to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
- If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person. The therapist is required to notify the police.
- If a client intends to harm himself or herself. The therapist will make every effort to work with the individual to ensure their safety. However, if an individual does not cooperate, additional measures may need to be taken.
